Hope that you guys have finished all your midterms and get a bit of rest before the finishing line!

We are thankful to see you last Thursday’s with Dr. Avital Harari from UCLA’s Endocrine Surgery team. She has provided her email to you if you still have more questions or get contacted with her: AHarari@mednet.ucla.edu

He has prepared a presentation that will be very useful in helping freshmen to juniors making the best of their time at UCLA and prepare themselves as superior applicants to medical school. It will also be extremely useful for seniors too if you are planning on taking a gap year and learning what is more important in your med school applications! Come with questions in mind:)

On a side note, Manni has also given a presentation in Med Friends group at UCLA. If you doesn’t want to hear the same presentation, we still encourage you to come toward the end for Q&A.

PPA Week 6 Meeting Announcement

Hi friends,

Hope your week 6 has been going well! Just a friendly reminder that President’s Day Weekend is coming up 😀

For this week, we will be having an open discussion/Q&A with your fellow PPA members to talk about whatever questions you might have or any suggestions for PPA. Some questions you might have are: Why do gap years? Is a low GPA possible to get into med school? (The Answer is YES!!) What makes you want to become a doctor? Or any misconceptions that you might have. We really would like to make this a positive, supportive pre-med environment because we all know how stressful and tiring being a premed. But every single one of us is CAPABLE to become a doctor so be PROUD of how far we are now! So please come with ANY questions you have or Anything you want to talk about!

We would be so happy to see you there!! Cookies, chips, and drinks are provided :)) We will also be talking about officers applications for 2018-2019 school year this week too! See you in Ackerman 2408 at 5pm!!

Sincerely,
PPA

PPA Week 4 Meeting Announcement

Hi Bruins,

Happy Week 4!

Thank you all for coming to last week meeting with Simon from Kaplan. We will be continuing our discussion in regards to standardized testing this week. This week, we will focus on providing more details about the MCAT, providing more details on its content, structure, and showing you example of the types of questions that come up on this exam. We will most importantly be also talking about which classes at UCLA should be taken before taking the MCAT, and revealing which classes are most useful when tackling this big exam before applying to medical school! Let us know if you have any specific questions about the MCAT!!!

See you this Thursday at 5pm in Ackerman 2408!

In addition, this is the link to the Kaplan Prep for the Win events this weekend. We hope it’s beneficial for members (either by just taking an MCAT practice test or seeing what a Kaplan class looks like).
